# TikTok sign-up with a temporary number

TikTok lets you register by phone, email or a social login. Phone is the fastest, and the number decides which region's feed you get.

## Can I create a TikTok account with a temporary number?

Yes. Pick TikTok in the catalog, choose the country whose feed you want (TikTok uses the number's country and your IP to set the region), enter the number and type the 6-digit SMS code. Add an email in settings afterwards so you can recover the account without the number.

## Region and the number

Creators use US or UK numbers to get those markets' recommendations. The number's country and the IP should match; a US number on a Brazilian IP gets a mixed region and sometimes a shadow restriction.

## Avoiding the instant ban

- Watch videos for a while before posting.
- Do not post the same video on five fresh accounts from the same device.
- Fill in profile details before any upload.

## FAQ

**Does TikTok reject VoIP?** In the US it increasingly does; use the physical-SIM pool for US numbers and virtual pools elsewhere.

**Does TikTok require a phone number?** No, email also works, but phone is faster and sets the region of the feed.

**Can I change the number later?** Yes, in settings, as long as you are logged in. Add an email first.

**Why is my new TikTok account restricted?** Fresh accounts that post immediately get limited. Watch and interact for a few days first.
