Why does Instagram ask me to verify my phone number?
Instagram asks for phone verification when it detects risk: a new account acting quickly, a shared IP, or a device with several accounts. Each account must verify a distinct number. Temporary numbers from countries with good Instagram rates pass; keep one number per account and do not reuse.

- Right after sign-up on a device that already has accounts.
- After following or liking too fast.
- When logging in from a new country.
Verifying with a temporary number
Choose Instagram in the catalog, pick a country with a high success rate, enter the number and type the code. Then add an email and enable two-factor with an authenticator app so future prompts do not need SMS.
